From February 16th until 28th a group of Dutch maritime companies visited Ho Chi Minh City area in the Southern part of Vietnam. During the first week (February 16th until 23rd) a maritime trade mission took place with 11 Dutch companies in Ho Chi Minh City area. Contiguous more than 30 Dutch companies were present at the maritime exhibition Maritime Vietnam (February 25th until 27th), of which 21 participated in the Holland Pavilion. One of the Dutch companies who participated in pavilion recently received an order. Furthermore, the Holland Pavilion won the ‘Best National Pavilion Design Award’.

 

Trade mission Vietnam

The trade mission focused on the shipyards in Ho Chi Minh City area. Collective visits were made to different shipyards like SESCO, Soai Rap Shipyard, Bason Shipyard, SSIC and Petro Vietnam. During the week also a seminar and matchmaking were organised. The seminar was a great success, looking at the amount of guests who participated; 94 in total.

 

Maritime Vietnam

The exhibition Maritime Vietnam was held for the second time in Ho Chi Minh City. After the successful first edition in 2006, this year more than 350 exhibitors from 20 countries were present. The quantity of visitors was as expected, but the quality of the visitors was very good.

 

The Dutch focus on Vietnam will continue. In 2010 the Holland Pavilion will be organised at Vietship in Hanoi and in 2011 at Maritime Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City.
