KR held its first Singapore technical seminar in the Amara Hotel in Singapore on 25 June. Delegates came from the Singapore Government, various shipping companies such as Ocean Tankers Ltd and shipyards such as Sembawang Shipyard Ltd.

During the seminar, delegates were given a detailed introduction to KR’s activities and technical achievements by Mr.H.C.Lee, manager of KR’s overseas sales department. Mr.Y.T.Kim, manager of KR’s Singapore branch office, demonstrated the KR-CON program and Mr.C.W.Kim, manager of KR’s rule development team, presented a summary of recent technical issues from IMO & IACS.

Although KR has expanded its influence in Singapore since it opened its branch office in 1981, this technical seminar helped to raise its profile amongst local shipping companies and shipyards and to reinforce the KR brand. KR will continue to strengthen its dialogue with the Singaporean maritime community.
